Why Poland
Poland belongs to the EU, there are no customs duties, and VAT on sales to private customers can be reported from Germany via the One-Stop-Shop procedure. Allegro accepts merchants from the rest of the European Economic Area with a business account and offers translations for other countries. In addition, Castorama is building its own marketplace in Poland.

Which channels on the channel list sell in Poland
- Allegro: merchants from the European Economic Area outside Poland create a business account, confirm their bank account and provide proof of identity and company, for a German GmbH for example with a current extract from the commercial register and the articles of association. Before the first offer, you store rules for returns, complaints and shipping. Offers are created in Polish. For Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary, Allegro translates title and description automatically as soon as you enable shipping there. More on Sell on Allegro. - Castorama: DIY store, marketplace in Poland since January 2025, built with Mirakl. Kingfisher cites over 500,000 additional items from sellers that Castorama selects according to quality and ethical standards, and 5 to 7 million visitors a month. Kingfisher, January 2025

What applies to merchants from Germany
- Item data in Polish: on Allegro, the offer form only supports Polish as the source language. You therefore need title and description in Polish; you can add your own translations for other countries afterwards.
- Customer service in the local language: your customers write in Polish. Plan for replies, returns and complaints in the local language.
- VAT: if your sales to private customers in other EU countries exceed 10,000 euros in a calendar year, the tax rate of the country in which the customer lives applies. Using the One-Stop-Shop procedure, you report these sales centrally to the Federal Central Tax Office (Bundeszentralamt für Steuern). Please clarify with your tax adviser what this means for your company.
