What Mirakl is

Mirakl is not a marketplace on which you sell yourself. Mirakl supplies retailers and manufacturers with the technology to run their own marketplace: onboarding sellers, checking catalogues, handling offers and orders, settling commissions. The operator, for example a DIY store or a department store, decides who may sell with it. Mirakl itself speaks of over 450 marketplaces worldwide, in B2C and B2B.

For you as a seller, this means: you have a separate seller account with a separate contract at each operator, but the operation and the interface are built on the same pattern for all of them.

Which channels on the channel list run on Mirakl

We only list channels on our channel list for which Mirakl or the operator itself publicly confirms the use of Mirakl. Older information carries its year.

Octopia is a separate technology

Cdiscount does not work with Mirakl but with Octopia: the Cdiscount seller area carries the addition “powered by Octopia”, and Cdiscount offers its own API. Octopia is therefore listed alongside Mirakl as a separate entry in our channel list. More on the page Sell on Cdiscount.

What is the same on all Mirakl marketplaces

  • The interface: Mirakl provides sellers with a dedicated Seller API. It is divided into sections, including products, offers, orders, returns, messages, invoices and the platform settings of the respective marketplace.
  • Access: requests run over HTTPS and are made with the API key of your seller account. If you have several shops, you select the shop via a shop ID.
  • Product and offer separated: the item with its attributes is one thing, your offer with price, stock and delivery time is another. Stock and price change daily, the item rarely.
  • Orders and returns: both run through separate sections of the same interface, with the same structure on every Mirakl marketplace.

What each operator sets for itself

What is the same is the technology, not the marketplace. Each operator decides for itself whom it admits, which categories and mandatory information it requires, which language the item data must be in and which fees it charges. zooplus reviews every application individually, Kingfisher selects the sellers for Castorama according to its own quality and ethical standards. You therefore apply for approval at each marketplace individually.

Why a further Mirakl marketplace is faster

The first Mirakl marketplace involves the most work: preparing your item data properly, connecting offers, stock and orders to your system, defining processes for shipping and returns. With the second, this foundation stays in place. Only the categories, mandatory information and rules of the new operator are new. A further Mirakl marketplace is therefore usually ready within one week, as soon as the access data for your seller account is available.

Mirakl marketplaces and other channels from one data source

At X-Sitter MARKETS, Mirakl is one of the channels by arrangement: we connect a Mirakl marketplace after we have checked your seller account and the operator's requirements. After that, it runs on the same item data maintenance as Amazon, Otto, Kaufland and the other channels on the channel list, directly on your ERP, your inventory management or your shop.
