What the Worten Marketplace is

The Worten marketplace runs on two websites: worten.pt, operated by Worten Equipamentos Para o Lar, S.A., and worten.es, operated by Worten España Distribución S.L. Sales go to Portugal (mainland and islands) and to Spain (mainland and Balearic Islands). Worten is not the seller of the marketplace items; the customer's contractual partner is the respective merchant.

On its seller page, Worten cites more than 50 million products in more than 30 categories and more than 200 stores in Portugal. The categories include household appliances, phones, IT, TV and audio, gaming, toys, beauty and health, home and decor, garden and DIY, sport, baby, office supplies and books.

Who may sell on Worten

• Companies or sole traders with an economic activity, registered for tax in the country of establishment or in the country from which the goods are shipped.
• Create an account, fill in the registration form, Worten checks the requirements. After that, the Worten team gets in touch with the instructions for registration.
• Documents: proof of bank details (no older than six months), proof of the company's tax number and proof of authority to represent. In addition, a self-declaration on seller traceability and consent to automated identity verification.
• Physical products are offered, new or labelled as refurbished. The shipping country is mandatory for every item.
• All content for customers in the language of the respective website: Portuguese on worten.pt, Spanish on worten.es, from the item description to warranty and instructions. You answer customer messages in the customer's language or in English.

How the fees are structured

For each paid order, Worten charges a commission as a percentage of the total amount the customer pays, including shipping costs. The rate depends on the product category and is shown in the seller area under “Configurações da Plataforma”, “Comissões”. In addition, after the first six months from activation, there is a monthly fee for using the marketplace, the amount of which is also shown in the seller area. Worten pays out the revenue after confirmed delivery, minus commission and monthly fee.

Technology: Worten runs on Mirakl

Worten launched its marketplace on the Mirakl platform in 2018. According to the seller terms, Worten provides its merchants with APIs for using the marketplace. The integration therefore follows the Mirakl pattern: items and offers go in via the interface, orders come back.

Typical for data preparation: map to Worten's categories, fill in mandatory fields per category, texts in Portuguese and Spanish, shipping country per item. For product safety, Worten also requires the manufacturer with address, product identifier, image and safety information in Portuguese or Spanish.

Worten and other channels from one data source
