Who may sell on bol

bol distinguishes between two routes:

  • Merchants from the Netherlands and Belgium: registration with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) or in the Belgian company register, a VAT identification number, items with a valid EAN/GTIN or ISBN that fit bol's range policy, sales rights and brand rules. A review by bol takes place before the first offer.
  • Merchants from other EU countries: a registered company in the EU, experience with international marketplaces, a sales potential of at least 500,000 euros in the first twelve months and customer service in Dutch. The integration must run through an interface partner certified by bol. Registration starts with a one-time invitation link.
  • bol has a separate page for companies outside the EU.

What bol costs

Listing on bol carries no fee; you pay per item sold. The commission consists of a fixed amount per item and a percentage of the sales price, both depending on the product type and partly on the price. For some items, bol lowers the commission automatically if your price is at or below a set threshold. The rates per category are in the bol commission table. Please check the current conditions directly with bol. You pay these fees to bol; they are not part of X-Sitter MARKETS.

How items get onto bol

bol offers the Retailer API. It covers offers, product content, orders, shipping and shipping labels, returns, inventory and invoices, among other things. Orders can be separated by fulfilment by the merchant (FBR) or by bol (FBB). Completed orders only remain visible in the order list for 48 hours after processing, so retrieval must run regularly.

Every item needs a valid EAN/GTIN or ISBN. You either make an offer on an item that bol already carries or create it as a new one. For variants, this means a separate EAN for each size, colour or version.

bol and other channels from one data source

At X-Sitter MARKETS, bol is one of the channels by arrangement: we connect bol after we have checked your seller account and your range. After that, bol runs on the same item data maintenance as Amazon, Otto, Kaufland and the other channels on the channel list, directly on your ERP, your inventory management or your shop. On request, we take care of setup and operation: Have marketplaces connected.
