Sell on marketplaces in the Netherlands and Belgium. Right next door.
The Netherlands and Belgium are on the doorstep, and goods from Germany get there quickly. Here you can see which channels on our channel list sell there, what the operators require of merchants from Germany and how your items get there from your system.
Why the Benelux countries
Both countries belong to the EU, there are no customs duties, and VAT on sales to private customers can be reported from Germany via the One-Stop-Shop procedure. The biggest difference is the language: if you sell to Dutch customers on bol or Obelink, you need Dutch item data and customer service that speaks Dutch. bol explicitly requires this of merchants from other EU countries.

Which channels on the channel list sell there

Merchants from other EU countries need a registered company in the EU, a sales potential of at least 500,000 euros in the first twelve months, customer service in Dutch and an integration via an interface partner certified by bol. If the application fits, bol sends a one-time invitation link. More on Sell on bol. bol: Selling via bol as an EU partner

What applies to merchants from Germany
- Language of item data: for the Netherlands, you need Dutch titles, descriptions and attributes. For fnac and Darty in Belgium, the marketplaces run together with France.
- Customer service in the local language: bol requires merchants from other EU countries to provide customer service in Dutch. Obelink measures how quickly partners reply to customer messages.
- VAT: if your sales to private customers in other EU countries exceed 10,000 euros in a calendar year, the tax rate of the country in which the customer lives applies. Using the One-Stop-Shop procedure, you report these sales centrally to the Federal Central Tax Office (Bundeszentralamt für Steuern). Please clarify with your tax adviser what this means for your company.
- EAN per item: bol requires a valid EAN/GTIN or ISBN for every item. For variants, this means a separate EAN for each size, colour or version.
