What TikTok Shop is in Germany
- TikTok Shop launched in Germany on 31 March 2025, at the same time as France and Italy. Before that, it was already running in the UK, Spain and Ireland.
- According to TikTok, 24.2 million people in Germany use the app regularly.
- Purchases are made in the app: via tagged products in videos and LIVE broadcasts, via the Shop tab and via the product showcase in the brand's profile.
- TikTok Shop is only available to people aged 18 and over. The German team is based in Munich.

How registration with TikTok Shop works
TikTok describes registration for sellers in Germany in four steps:
- Register with a phone number, email address or an existing TikTok account. Each number and each address can only be registered once.
- Complete the application: prove identity and address with documents and, depending on the type of business, also provide company details.
- Wait for approval: approval comes by email, according to TikTok usually after one to three days; the actual duration may vary.
- Start selling: list the first product and store payment details.
- On registration, TikTok also creates a Business Center account and an Ads Manager account. According to TikTok, sellers from Germany reach 13 European markets.

What TikTok Shop costs
TikTok Shop charges a commission on completed orders. In the EU, according to its commission policy, it is 9 percent, including applicable taxes such as VAT. A reduced rate of 7 percent may apply to certain electronics categories, and new sellers can receive 4 percent for up to 60 days if they complete the designated task in Seller Center. Added to this are costs for shipping and, if used, for Fulfilled by TikTok.

Ship yourself or Fulfilled by TikTok
Sellers ship themselves or use Fulfilled by TikTok. In that case, TikTok, together with the logistics provider Fiege, handles storage, order processing, packing, shipping and returns as soon as the goods have arrived in the warehouse. For both routes, TikTok Shop needs reliable stock from your system.

How items get into TikTok Shop
TikTok Shop offers its own interface, documented in the TikTok Shop Partner Center. It covers products, orders, shipping, Fulfilled by TikTok, returns and finance, among other things. A local seller runs a shop in their own country. Sellers who sell from one EU country to other EU countries can maintain products centrally as global products and publish them in several markets.
- Map categories: map your product groups to the TikTok Shop category tree, with the mandatory attributes of the category.
- Check images and texts: prepare product images, title and description the way TikTok Shop requires them.
- Variants and GTIN: sizes and colours as variants with their own item number, so that stock and orders are correct.
- Synchronise continuously: stock and price from your system, orders and tracking numbers back.
