Sell commercially on eBay.de. From your own item data maintenance.
On eBay, any company can open a business account. The work lies in the details for each listing: category, item specifics, product identifiers, variants. Here you can see what eBay requires and how it works without manual effort.
Who has to sell on eBay as a business seller
eBay requires business sellers to register as a business. According to the business seller policy, this includes a valid VAT identification number, contact details and information on the return conditions.
- You store the company's legal details in the seller settings. They appear on the item pages and in the seller profile.
- eBay does not accept a PO box as a valid company address.
- Cancellation policy and information obligations under distance selling law also apply on eBay.

How the eBay fees are made up
You pay these fees to eBay; they are not part of X-Sitter MARKETS. Please check the current conditions directly with eBay.
- Final value fee: a percentage of the total transaction amount that depends on the category, plus a fixed amount per order. According to eBay Help, this is 0.35 EUR per order, or 0.45 EUR for orders over 10.00 EUR.
- Insertion fee: without an eBay Shop, eBay charges a fee per listing that is not refunded even if the item does not sell.
- Shop subscription: eBay offers four Shop subscriptions (Basic, Top, Premium, Platinum) with a monthly allowance of listings without insertion fee. According to eBay, the Platinum Shop includes a 10% discount on the final value fee.
- Additional options such as a subtitle cost extra.

What data eBay requires per listing
- In some categories, unique product identifiers are mandatory: GTIN, in Europe usually the EAN, or brand plus manufacturer part number (MPN).
- According to eBay, different colour variants should have different manufacturer part numbers.
- For new goods of certain brands, the EAN must be given, even if “Not applicable” could otherwise be selected.
- The item specifics fields take the value, not the field name. So the brand field must not say “Brand”.

How the integration with eBay works technically
eBay provides sellers with REST interfaces. With the Inventory API, you create items per SKU with condition and quantity, group variants such as colour or size into item groups and publish offers from them. Every offer needs a warehouse location, a category and your policies for payment, shipping and returns.
For a range with variants and daily stock changes, this means: map categories and item specifics properly once, take EAN and manufacturer part number from your system, set up policies in the account. After that, stock, price and orders run automatically.

eBay and other channels from one data source
With X-Sitter MARKETS, eBay runs on the same item data maintenance as Amazon, Otto, Kaufland and the other channels on the channel list. MARKETS runs directly on your ERP, your inventory management or your shop, even without X-Sitter CONNECT. On request, we take care of setup and operation: Have marketplaces connected.
